**REMOTE OPTION** - MEDICAL DOSIMETRIST
Description
The Medical Dosimetrist has knowledge of the overall characteristics and clinical relevance of radiation oncology treatment machines and equipment, is cognizant of procedures commonly used in brachytherapy and has the education and expertise necessary to generate radiation dose distributions and dose calculations in collaboration with the Medical Physicist and Radiation Oncologist.
Education / Licensure / Experience:
- Must be a graduate of a JRCERT accredited Medical Dosimetry program OR possess a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree with a major in the physical or biological sciences, OR registered as a radiation therapy technologist.
- Together with one of these credentials must possess the CMD certification granted by the Medical Dosimetrist Certification Board.
- Two or more years of experience is preferred.
Requirements
Additional notes:
- Train on site initially for a minimum 4 wks (or more, depending on proficiency).
- Report on-site once per week for the first 6 months
- Report on-site once every two weeks thereafter
- Be available for brachytherapy cases in the operating room as needed, depending on volume
